Church groups and events

Getting together is at the heart of our church

Whether it’s on Sunday at our main service or at our groups during the week we like to get together. There are gatherings for the very young to the more mature in years. Take a look at some of the various groups and events we offer below…

Warm Welcome Café

From 9am until 11.30am, every Tuesday a warm welcome awaits you at our popular café. Serving freshly brewed Fair Trade tea and coffee and homemade cakes, you are always assured of a warm welcome. There is a play area for little ones too. Feel free to drop in and join us.

Babies and Toddlers

Our baby and pre-school group runs every Wednesday in term time from 9:45am until 11.30am. There is a wide range of toys and play equipment for the children as well as craft activities, singing, and refreshments. Find out more…

Creativity in Fellowship

Twice a month a small group meets to paint and craft, and share a cup of tea or coffee together. This friendly group meets in the Wesley Room at 10:30am every 2nd and 4th Friday morning of the month. The is no charge to attend, all are welcome.

Wednesday Worship

Our monthly afternoon service provides an opportunity to sing some favourite hymns, hear inspiring stories, try a craft activity, and enjoy tea & cake with friends. The format is Dementia Friendly and aims to be as accessible as possible. All welcome to attend, we start at 2:30pm on the first Wednesday of every month.

Hatfield Road Daycare

This is an independent group established as a partnership between St. Paul’s Parish Church, Hatfield Road Methodist Church and Fleetville Community Centre. It meets every Friday 10am–3pm, and is staffed by appropriately trained volunteers. It provides a place of friendship and company for elderly people in the local community. Church Walks

Taking place on the last Saturday of the month our walks are open to adults and children. Usually about 4-5 miles in length, they start at 10.00am, and take around 2 hours. The routes follow footpaths which can often be muddy, so good footwear is advisable. There is often an opportunity to stop somewhere for lunch or refreshments after a walk. Do contact us if you’d like to come along.

House Groups

There are four House Groups that meet on a fortnightly basis during school terms. The Groups follow a variety of resources that help people to deepen their understanding of the Bible and to think through issues of life and faith. The groups meet on Monday at 7:30pm, Wednesday at 8:00pm and on Thursday and Friday mornings at 10:30am. Do contact us for details.

Prayer Groups

We have two weekly prayer groups that meet in person or on WhatsApp.

Tuesdays 9–9:45am by WhatsApp,
led by Ros Hancock

Wednesdays 7–8:00am
in the Aldersgate Lounge, led by Chris Hancock

All are welcome to join either group for some or all of the time. Do contact us for details.

Social Events

Regular social events are held for all ages, both for the church family and for the local community. These include shared meals, harvest suppers, games evenings, film showings, coffee mornings and afternoon teas. In the summer there are family fun afternoons for parents and children.
